Board Games

We love to play board games! Do you?

Tickets are free (and just help us plan) and we cook a yummy dinner for which we accept your donation. Our boardgame library is online and you can bring something you want to play. We actually own another thousand games or so, but they are not here at the store! We keep bringing more here, and as soon as we assemble some more Kallax, we'll get serious about migrating more of the collection in this direction.

Logistics

We are a nut-free, gluten-free kitchen unless noted. I am always happy to accommodate vegetarians or folks with food allergies, just let me know ahead of time. We do have sweet "bodega" cats, in case you have allergies.

We have a restroom here.

Parking is a little limited; folks with ADA needs can park in front of the real estate agency next door if our spots are full, and anyone can park in the big dirt lot just down the hill from us.

We aim to be friendly and to have a good time but prefer that our game nights stay alcohol-free, both for fun playing games and for safety driving home. We have lots of bottled water, sodas, Gatorades, and snacks here in our little market.

Do your kids like to play games?

We are thinking about doing a Friday afternoon boardgame day for kids once a month.

Let me know if your tweens/teens might be interested! My son is 14 and would be glad to play boardgames with other teens/tweens (he is good with younger kids, in general). The Gilpin County Central City school bus route will drop the kids off right here at the Market, if they ask! We can make snacks and drinks available. I am an adult, and a mom (obviously) and will supervise the kids.

Do you love D&D or RPGs?

They're not my favorite games, to be honest, but I'm really happy to host your group! Be a part of the regular monthly gaming night, or select another evening, and then just talk to me and we'll make the plan. We can decide if you want to do food, or just do snacks and drinks, or whatever you like.

We hope to build a fun boardgame community in Gilpin County/Central City and we're open to your ideas! We also love jigsaw puzzles! We'd be open to hosting a "stitch and b*tch" club. Let's use this happy space to build friendships and have fun.
