Merlot Wild Blueberry Sauce

I like Merlot bright and approachable and the 2016 Barefoot Merlot from California was an award-winner. Paired here with wild blueberries, it makes a sauce perfect for meat, fish, or your morning waffle. Try adding a spoonful to your marinara sauce to bring it a delicious new level of sophistication.

We always use simple ingredients at Dory Dozens Delights: wild blueberries, 2016 Barefoot Merlot*, cane sugar, hand-squeezed lemon juice, fruit pectin, pure vanilla extract.

*Barefoot Merlot contains both alcohol, which cooks off as the sauce is prepared for the jars, and sulfites, which remain in the finished sauce.
